Day Nine (January 20): The Joy of Restoration

Tonight at the West Campus, our intercessors will gather to pray with you @ 7:30 p.m. You may want to get there early to help set the tone of intimacy with God. The pastors will also anoint you with oil coupled with the laying on of hands. We want to close our time of prayer with this kind of personalized ministry to you.

I hope you feel restored in your walk with the Lord. Fasting has a way of repairing broken walls and restoring streets with dwellings—two metaphors that symbolize the repairing and restoring of our lives. Through this fast, God restored my joy of studying. Don’t get me wrong. I like studying but the deep joy had not been at the height that it is now.

Now, I am like a kid in a candy store when a book is in my hand. Thank God for His restoring power.

What was restored in your life during this fast?

  1. What has been restored? A song in my heart when I awaken each morning. A stillness in my soul as I walk through the day. A new sensitivity to send up little prayers and listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit in the midst of all the activity and busyness around me.

  2. Hello,

This fast has restored my confidence in God and has increased in me a new level of love for the Lord, as we were all instructed to read Isaiah 58 for the fast season, I perused through the book of Isaiah and found many more promises which I began to pray about; especially with this new venture I’ve embarked in, I prayed for God’s continual wisdom and guidance. I also developed a greater need to pray for Christians everywhere. I made a new covenant with God with his expected deliverance in mind and I also had my prior scheduled fast day restored. I appreciate God’s friendship even more. We often hear phrases such as I am a friend of God; if it is thoughtlessly said because it sounds good, then there’s no truth to it. The way that I have experienced Him and seen him move on my behalf I can consider myself a good friend as I expect that friendship to grow to an exponential height. I choose to make 2011 a year of healing for me, inner healing of things that I never expected to happen because I wasn’t prepared for them. God has shown me so much mercy and grace that I don’t mind showing grace to others. I’m a natural giver and when I give, it’s unconditional. Therefore, I thank God for blessing me with more love this year moving forward so I can share in abundance.

  3. A heightened spiritual discernment has been restored. Also the Word of God seems more exciting and fresh! As a bonus, I also feel more committed to making fasting a more regular practice in my life. I am so grateful to God for His faithfulness and grace during this fast.
